So over the course of the last year, I have had the highs and lows of writing book 2. From losing almost the entire book to spending 3 straight days locked in my home to write feverishly (to get back what I lost) to this moment right now. With the book literally finished (yay), I reflect on where book one has taken me so far. My goal was never to become famous or rich. I've always been a writer so this was like picking up an old hobby. Writing has been a passion of mine since grade school. Life forced me to pursue other career goals that I knew would take care of me financially. Yet, now I know that the whole purpose of me pursuing those goals was so that I could invest in myself later.
With that being said, as I prepare to drop book two, I can't even begin to tell you how hearing from you guys inspired me. The fact people that I don't even know (or those that I do) support what I love is mind-blowing. It amazes me that my first book has visited places that I myself haven't physically been to is so humbling. From the emails, calls, and DMs, it's a blessing. SOOOOO...I know you want to know about this book 2. I can't wait to get it into your hands. I originally wanted to give you the ending to all of the stories in book one, but decided to only give you the endings to five and give you five new stories. You know how something is just right the way it is and you don't want to ruin it? Yeah, some of those stories were perfect left right where they were. Maybe I'll bring them back (book 3?). Who knows... Book 2 has even more intensity than the first, but a lot of great underlying messages. For example, the story, Dripping, has a theme of loyalty, false expectations, and disappointment. These stories are so much more than erotica....it's life. It's represents the twists and turns that we all go through. Maybe not the same scenario, but the rollercoaster ride that we all take at some point. I am so excited to get this to you. I'm working hard and even have a few tricks up my sleeve for this one....ride with me! Beginning at midnight tonight thru tomorrow at 11;59 p.m., comment below about your own Spilled Milk Situation! From a sexy love triangle to a rekindled flame, spill the tea! (Feel free to use a sexy alter ego name to hide your identity). This story was such a pleasure to write. We have all been in a situation where we meet someone (whether it's in a club, at a party, etc.) and there's an instant attraction. I took the fun and excitement of something so normal and added a twist to this. The character, Kayla, is married to her high school sweetheart and for the most part very satisfied in her marriage-except in Marvin's lack of sexual attention. After a chance encounter in a club, she is surprised to find that her encounter is not so easily shakable. (If you haven't read it yet, check it out!)
So, ladies (or gentlemen), what would you do if your companion provided you with everything you wanted but lacked fulfilling your sexual needs? Would you cheat? Discuss it with him or her? Deal with it? As intense as this story was, it tackled a very common topic. Relationships consists of so many components and each partner should be fully aware of what the other needs or wants. I found in chatting with readers at book parties that most women are afraid to actually talk about it. That certain things are either taboo or that they just don't feel comfortable. Stop that!!!! You have to be able to tell your lover what you need, want, or expect. Communication is key! If it still makes you uncomfortable, tell em" to read one of my stories that helps relay the best message :0) The story, Grind, hold a special place as it holds a special place in my heart being the first short story of the book. If you haven't had the opportunity to read it, it's about a woman who is madly in love with a married man that has been her friend for years and she works for him at his law firm. All she wants is one night with him since having him as her own isn't likely to happen. Now, many of you may be wondering what compelled this story. This is not a new topic (infidelity) and by no means do I glorify it. Yet, I know that there are women that unfortunately have gone through it or are going through it. I wanted this story to be one that is relatable in the emotions' aspect more than the situation. What do you guys think of Jacquelyn's need for 24 hours with Sedrick? Do you think Sedrick knew how she felt in all of those years of them knowing each other? And what about that ending? What is the hell is Arianna doing on that sofa?
